Sapporo Maid Cafes: 10 Best Picks in Susukino (Oct 2026)

Almost all of Sapporo's concept cafes cluster in Susukino, the biggest entertainment district north of Tokyo — most shops are within a few minutes of Susukino subway station. Unlike Akihabara's daytime cafes, much of the scene here runs into the night as concept *bars*, which makes it a great after-dinner stop in winter.

What to expect

Maid cafes work on a small cover or seat charge (from as little as ¥300) plus orders, often in 30-minute units; nighttime concept bars usually sell time-based drink plans instead. Cheki photos at idol-style shops like Bugkoi run ¥1,500–¥2,000. Staff rarely speak much English, but pointing at the menu works fine — and visitors are welcome.

Where to go

• Maid in Shangri-La — a long-running Susukino maid cafe with three sister floors in one building, ¥300 cover, open 18:00–23:00. Easy first visit.
• Maidreamin Sapporo Tanukikoji — the national chain's Hokkaido flagship, just off the Tanukikoji arcade near Odori station. A bright maid cafe by day (from 11:30), a "HYPER" maid bar after 8pm.
• Ma-maid — underwater-themed idol-maid cafe where the maids give stage-style performances.
• Roselita — a sit-beside-you ribbon maid cafe one minute from exit 3 of Susukino Station (new on MaidLink in October). Open evenings from 18:00–19:00 into the small hours; 30-minute plans from ¥1,300.
• Romeo x Giulietta — maid cafe across from Norbesa (new on MaidLink in October). Seat charge ¥600 per 30 minutes; open 17:00–22:00 on weekdays and until 6:00 on Fri, Sat and the night before holidays.
• Bugkoi — maid-idol-cosplay bar open from 7pm into the late night, with all-you-can-drink plans and cheki.
• Cafe de NoahR — Sapporo's butler cafe, open 16:00–1:00, for a change of pace.

Tips

• The subway stops around midnight; the bars don't. Budget for a taxi if you stay late.
