Questions & answers

+What is MaidLink?

MaidLink is a social platform for concept-cafe (konkafe) cast in Japan. It brings your profile, photos and stories, work schedule, and support from fans into one place. Instead of depending on a venue, cast members connect with their own fans and grow their activity on their own terms.

+What is a konkafe, and how is it different from a maid cafe?

Konkafe is short for 'concept cafe' — themed hospitality cafes built around a specific world such as maid, jirai-kei, anime, or host. A maid cafe is one type of konkafe, themed around maids. MaidLink is for cast at any concept cafe, not just maid cafes.

+Is MaidLink free to use?

Yes. Creating an account, publishing your profile, posting, following, and sharing your schedule are all free. Payment fees only apply when you use the support (tip) feature. We're currently in open beta and registration is free.

+Do I need my venue's permission?

MaidLink is a platform for individual cast, so you can generally create your own profile without venue approval. If you display a shop name or affiliation, follow that venue's rules. MaidLink is your personal home base — it isn't tied to any single shop.

+Is my personal information and privacy safe?

Safety is a core design principle. Private contact details — phone numbers, LINE IDs, email addresses — are automatically blocked in messages and posts so they never reach the other party directly. You never need to share your real name or address; a display name and handle are enough.

+How can fans support a cast member?

Fans follow the cast they like and can like and comment on posts and stories. With the support (tip) feature they choose an amount and back a cast directly, appearing as a Top Fan on the profile. Support drives not only revenue but also a cast's visibility and ranking.

+Does the cast keep the support (tip) revenue?

Yes. Support is paid directly to the cast through the payment platform (Stripe). MaidLink only takes a small platform fee and never holds funds. It's a transparent model where the cast receives money under their own account.

+Where can I download the app?

MaidLink will offer mobile apps (iOS / Android) alongside the web version. We're currently in open beta and you can use the web version right now. We'll announce app-store availability on the homepage and blog as soon as it's ready.

+How do I use MaidLink for oshi-katsu (supporting my favorite)?

Follow your favorite cast to see new posts, stories and schedules first. Use the live map to find your oshi working nearby, and aim to become a Top Fan through support — making oshi-katsu more fun and your connection deeper.

+Where is MaidLink available?

MaidLink is built for Japan's konkafe culture and is available to cast and fans nationwide, from Akihabara onward. The interface supports both Japanese and English.

MaidLink is in open beta.
