Hiroshima Maid Cafes: 10 Spots in Nagarekawa & Hatchobori

Illustrative image (AI-generated)

Hiroshima's maid cafe and concept cafe scene is compact. Most of it sits in the Nagarekawa, Yagenbori and Hatchobori area of Naka-ku, and every shop below lists a Hiroden streetcar stop as its nearest station (Ebisucho, Hatchobori, Ginzancho or Joshiingakuen-mae), so you can look at several places in one evening.

Most of these are evening places, and a few stay open very late. A handful open in the afternoon, so check the hours below and the shop's X account before you go.

What to expect

Hiroshima has classic maid cafes (a cat-ear cafe, a black-cat maid cafe on the 5th floor of a Don Quijote), gothic and doll-themed concept cafes, an idol cafe with a live space, and a few concept bars with darts, billiards or karaoke. Prices are mostly set by time: a 30-minute or 60-minute basic fee, often with free drinks. Examples from the official pages: Dorthy and moi list ¥1,980 for 30 minutes, ¥3,300 for 60 and ¥4,950 for 90 (tax included), with cheki at ¥1,100. MIKECAFE is a free-drink system at ¥1,100 (tax included) per 30 minutes during the early hours, then per 20 minutes. Purimofine doesn't publish prices in our data, so ask when you sit down. For a general breakdown, see how much a maid cafe costs in Japan.

Which one should you pick?

  • Want to stay out late: Anison Bar Guild runs until 5am, Fairy Tale until 3am, and MIKECAFE until 1am.

Tips

  • Dorthy and moi have irregular closing days, so check their X or website on the day. idoled and Fairy Tale are closed on Mondays and Dollie x Dollie on Sundays.
  • Several of these are bars as well as cafes, so the pricing works differently from a daytime maid cafe. If this is your first time, how to visit a maid cafe and nervous about your first maid cafe cover the basics.
  • The Yagenbori shops are close together: Dorthy, idoled, Dollie x Dollie and Fairy Tale are all in Yagenbori, and moi and Anison Bar Guild are on Nagarekawa-cho. Kuroneco is in the Hatchobori area, and Purimofine in Kamihatchobori is the one a bit apart from the others.
